Parents' Day Out

PARENTS' DAY OUT

Children ages 18 months to 5 years old receive Christ-centered, loving care from 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, following the Lubbock Independent School District schedule from mid-August through mid-May. For more information, please contact the Church Office or

FROM THE DIRECTOR:

The last two months have flown by, and the rest of the school year will move just as quickly. The teachers and I are already making plans for the summer program. This month will begin our early registration for summer, 2008. If you are interested in our PDO summer session, please let me know or contact the Church Office as soon as possible.

Please consider being a part of our "Read to Me" program. We are in need of volunteers to read to the students. It is the second Tuesday of every month at 10:00 a.m. The children love being read to and the individual attention they receive.

PDO will be closed March 17 - March 21 for spring break. We will resume classes on Tuesday, March 25, at 9:00 a.m. We hope everyone has a safe and restful break.

THE DIRECTOR

Betsy Fischer, Director, is a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Betsy and her husband, Clifford, are the parents of Megan, 12, and Lane, 7. She is a former teacher with 10 years of experience and enjoys teaching children. Betsy said, "I believe this is a very important mission for our Church."

OUR TEACHERS

	Lori Matsik (Ms. Lori) teaches the 4- and 5-year-old children. She and her husband, Michael (a Lubbock Police Officer for the past six years), have two children. Luke is 10; Jordan is 5. Lori loves children and says she feels blessed to be a part of such a wonderful Parents' Day Out Program.
	Sharon Tull (Ms. Sharon) teaches the 2- and 3-year-olds. Sharon is a long-time member of Christ Lutheran Church and the mother of two grown sons. Her granddaughter, Ally Tull, was among the first students in the Parents' Day Out program. She loves children and the children love her as evidenced by her many years as a Midweek School and Sunday School teacher.

ELECTION DAY 2008 AT PDO

News Flash -- PDO students vote, too!

Tuesday, March 3, the PDO students had an opportunity to learn a little about the election process -- they were given the opportunity to vote for their choice of pizza or a happy meal for Thursday's lunch. Of course, each student also received an "I Voted!" sticker when they finished. Following are pictures from the election:

Read to Me

Summer Session, "Western Roundup"
