Located in the Community Health Center Building at 1318 Broadway (Broadway and Avenue M) in Lubbock, Neighborhood House provides food vouchers, utility payment assistance, help with prescription costs, and other necessities to low-income individuals and households in crisis. Approximately 200 sack lunches are distributed each month to the homeless and transient population in the downtown Lubbock area. Additionally, 100 low-income families are assisted with Thanksgiving baskets each year. Neighborhood House's clients are single mothers, the elderly and disabled on fixed incomes at poverty level or below, the homeless and marginally-housed, and persons who are in a temporary financial crisis. During 2004, 10,125 individuals in 5,434 households were served. The average household income was $350 per month. 6,167 services were provided as follows:

While we'd love to distribute other donated commodities to those in need, our space limitations preclude storage of items such as canned food, clothing, or other household goods. Instead, we refer people in need of those items to other agencies specializing in distributing those products.
