Shawn and Holly Haseloff were received into membership on
February 18, 2007. They transferred from St. Paul Lutheran Church,
Plainview TX. We welcome them to our family!
We rejoice that our numbers increased by six on October 15,
2006. The following people were received into membership through the rite
of Confirmation: Forrest and Marky Edwards, Scott and William Harris, and
David Spriggs. Also new to our membership is Beka Harris, daughter of

TEEN OF THE MONTH
Austin Limmer, a member of Christ Lutheran Church and son of
Artie and Beverly Limmer, was chosen April, 2006, Teen of the Month for Lubbock
High School. Austin is the student body Vice President, a member of the
Student Council, and a state qualifier as a member of the varsity swim team.

2006 TEXAS ACADEMIC DECATHLON REGION 1
COMPETITION
Haley Schwede, a member of Christ Lutheran Church and Senior
at Coronado High School, achieved second place in team super quiz at the
recent Regional Academic Decathlon in Midland. Her team earned a berth at
the State meet February 24 - 25. Congratulations, Haley, and good luck at
the State competition!
TEEN OF THE MONTH
Jonathan Rushing, a member of Christ Lutheran Church and son
of Rudi and Barbara Rushing, was chosen February Teen of the Month for Mackenzie
Junior High School. Jonathan is in the 9th grade and is a member of the
football and wrestling teams. Congratulations, Jonathan!

Congratulations to Tanner Borchardt on his selection as Irons
Junior High's Teen of the Month for May, 2005. He is a National Honor Society
member, a Life Rank Boy Scout, and treasurer of his youth group (Christ Lutheran
Church Lutheran Youth Fellowship). He is also involved in football,
basketball, and track.
2005 TEXAS ACADEMIC DECATHLON STATE
COMPETITION
Emily Korinek, a member of Christ Lutheran Church and Senior
at Lubbock High School, had two perfect scores and won seven individual medals,
leading Lubbock High to a fourth place finish during the 2005 Texas Academic
Decathlon State Meet for large schools on February 26, 2005.

Congratulations to Allison Korinek on her selection as the O.
L. Slaton Junior High Teen of the Month for December, 2004. She is a member of
the National Junior Honor Society, the all-region band, and is involved in
diving.
NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP SEMI-FINALIST
Emily Korinek, senior at Lubbock High School and a member of
Christ Lutheran Church, was recently selected as a National Merit Scholarship
Semi-Finalist. She has also been selected for the All-Region Choir!
SPECIAL WEDDING ANNIVERSARIES
Two of our couples recently celebrated 50th wedding
anniversaries. Charles and Beverly King were married April 18, 1954 and
held their celebration on June 6, 2004 with a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
On hand to congratulate them were Travis and Joy Simpson who were married June 8, 1954, and celebrated in New Mexico with their family.

The United States Air Force Academy has announced the appointment of Clinton Borchardt,
a Lubbock High School senior, to the Class of 2008. Congratulations,

ACADEMIC DECATHLON STATE MEET
Emily Korinek is a member of the Lubbock High School team who will compete in
the Texas Academic Decathlon 2004 State Meet in San Antonio, February 27 - 28,
2004. She was recently selected as the highest Lubbock High honor student
in the regional competition, receiving first place awards in essay, economics,
Super Quiz and honor overall; seconds in math, music, and language; and thirds
in interview, speech, and art.
