CHURCH DIRECTORY AND COUNCIL MINUTES As a convenience to our members, the Church directory and Council Minutes are now provided on-line. No more will you have to remember to update a printed directory as changes, additions, and deletions are made -- every attempt will be made to keep this one current at all times! To protect privacy, passwords and user names are being issued...instructions are in one bulletin of each month. If you have questions about the passwords or user names, you may contact Joyce Kuhl. The directory can only be as good as your input, and we'd like to include, as a minimum, the names of all family members (please specify if some have different last names), the current address, current email address, current home phone (and work and cell numbers if you wish), and the place of employment for all adult members of the household. If you find incorrect or missing data, please complete and submit the form at the bottom of this page or notify the webservant by email. If you view the directory or minutes on a "public access" computer, please close the browser when you're finished to ensure our continued privacy. Lutheran Service Book (LSB), the new LCMS hymnal, provides a wealth of worship, meditation, prayer, and instructional material. It contains a nice blend of the old and the new in both liturgy and hymn content. It’s very well-organized, easy to use, and the majority of the new hymns are quite singable and easily-learned. Some of the new hymn texts are set to old and familiar melodies. Five orders of liturgical worship plus Matins, Vespers, and other special services are included which will permit and encourage more variety in our worship. The proposed purchase of LSB for our worship was discussed at the Church Council on March 18, 2007, and final Council approval was received at the April 29, 2007 Council meeting. We hope we might have the new LSB in the pews early this summer. While funds for the total purchase price of LSB and the associated altar books, agendas, organist accompaniment copies, and software to simplify bulletin preparation were included in the 2007 budget approved in November, a number of people have expressed a desire to purchase copies for Christ Lutheran Church in memory or honor of their loved ones. That opportunity is now available. If there are unspent and undesignated amounts in the Living Memorial Fund for your loved ones, those may also now be specified for the purchase of new hymnals. Each hymnal donated in memory or honor of a loved one will contain a label inside the front cover showing the name of the person memorialized and the donor’s name if you wish. The order form (click here to download and print it) may be used to record your wishes. Hymnals are $20 each, including shipping costs. Please fill out the sheet (using additional sheets if necessary) for however many copies you wish to purchase, attach your check made payable to “Christ Lutheran Church Hymnal Project”, and either mail them to the Church (Christ Lutheran Church, PO Box 6304, Lubbock TX 79493-6304), leave them in the office, or place them in the offering plate on Sunday morning.
