WHAT IS CARE-CIPLE?
"Care" is a loving concern expressed in a real way. "Ciple"
is part of "disciple" -- an individual Christian who is becoming an informed,
enlightened, dedicated follower of Jesus Christ. Thus, Care-ciple is a
small-group sharing ministry, consisting of 8 - 16 people who meet at least once
a month in homes or a common meeting place for Bible study and fellowship.
It really is not different or new. It's God working in groups through love
and through you.
The Care-Ciple Coordinator is Gladys (Perki) Whitehead.
You may contact her at 239-9498 or

WHAT ARE THE GOALS?
SNARE
 |
Present truths and promises of Jesus Christ to one another
(in-reach evangelism). |
 |
Practice speaking our faith to one another so we can become
equipped to build bridges to prospective Christians in the community (outreach
evangelism). |
 |
Provide structure to involve new members in the fellowship
life of the congregation. |
AWARE
 |
Encourage and build Christian character. |
 |
Encourage the use of Scriptures. |
 |
Equip Christians by helping them develop their unique gifts
for service in Christ's kingdom. |
PRAYER
 |
Learn to pray in small groups. |
 |
Pray for one another, the Church, Pastor, staff, and others.
|
 |
Encourage and serve as a resource for family devotions.
|
SHARE
 |
Develop a closer relationship with other Christians. |
 |
Develop a sense of belonging in the church. |
 |
Develop a sense of purpose according to the designs of God.
|
 |
Develop fellowship and fun with other Christians. |
CARE
 |
Meet the needs of man (emotionally, physically, socially,
spiritually). |
 |
Establish "family-like" relationship with other Christians.
|
HOW DOES IT WORK?
 |
Each group has a facilitator (a husband and wife may serve
together). |
 |
The group facilitator is to encourage visitors to the group
through friendly and positive responses. |
 |
There may be a leadership training. |
 |
Each group will meet at least once a month. More
meetings can be scheduled if the group so chooses. |
 |
Groups divide when the group has 16 members. |
 |
An assistant leader should be appointed for each group.
This person may become the leader of the second group when it divides.
|
 |
Care-Ciple groups are study groups; leadership duties may be
rotated. |
 |
All group members are encouraged to participate. |
 |
Group members usually commit for a specific period of time (6
- 9 months). |
 |
Care-Ciple groups are meant to include study and
sharing/fellowship, devoting 50% of the allotted time to each. |
WHO CAN JOIN?
Any person who wishes to develop a stronger relationship with
other Christians and wants to study the Word of God.
ARE GROUPS CLOSED?
No, a person may join any group based on topic interest, age, or
other criteria the person chooses. The purpose of Care-ciple is to build
fellowship and encourage Bible study; thus, you may join a group at any time.
You may belong to more than one group if other topics interest you. You
may visit other groups.
HOW DO I JOIN?
Check the list of
groups and their study topics. Select a group and contact the group
leader, a group member, or the Church office.
HOW DO I BECOME A GROUP LEADER?
 |
Select a study topic |
 |
Select a place, time, and day of the month to meet. |
 |
Notify the
Care-Ciple Coordinator and advertise the above information in the Church
bulletin/newsletter and this web site. |
WHO CAN BE A LEADER?
Anyone who wants to share the Bible teachings with others can be
a group leader, even if you've never been to an in-depth Bible study.
Remember this is a study group, not a lecture. If you'd like to facilitate
a group and moderate participation, you can be an effective leader.
Knowledge comes as you study; no one knows everything. And you can always
consult with the Care-Ciple Coordinator or other group leaders to get help and
guidance.
