CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH
1954 - 2004
50 YEARS OF GOD'S GRACE!
Christ Lutheran
Church celebrated its 50th anniversary on
October 30 and 31, 2004.
A banquet for members, former members, and invited guests began the festivities on
Saturday, October 30th, at 6:00 p.m., at the
Texas Tech University Frazier
Alumni Pavilion.
On Sunday, October 31st,
Texas District President James R. Linderman was the
guest speaker at a 10:00 a.m. festival worship service
with Holy Communion. Rev. Dr. Alan Korinek,
Former Vacancy Pastor at Christ, and Rev. Chris Johnson and Rev. Don Widger, both
"Sons of the Congregation", assisted Rev. Mark Paul with the service. A
light lunch and fellowship followed the service.
Special thanks go to
the Anniversary
Committee who planned the festive weekend and to all members who gave so
generously of their time and talent in making this a memorable celebration of
the 50 years of God's Grace.
If you were there, we were honored by your presence!
Enjoy the pictures below. Many more are available in a PowerPoint
presentation now available. If you don't have PowerPoint software on your
computer, you must first download a free PowerPoint Viewer (follow the
instructions on the screen to download and install it). Then click on the
"50th Anniversary Pictures" link. This gives you options to either open
the file or save it to your computer (because of the file size and download
time, I'd suggest saving it to your desktop or other convenient location). The file is rather large so it may
take a little while to download, particularly on a dial-up connection...please
be patient. When it opens, right-click anywhere on the screen and then on
the "full screen" option. Once in full screen, move the mouse over the
lower left corner to find the "back" and "forward" arrows to navigate among the
pictures.
